Privacy Policy (OTF) is committed to preserving your privacy and safeguarding your credit card and other sensitive information. The following statement describes the general information-gathering and usage practices of our web site and funeral funding service.

Collecting personal information through our Online Funeral Funding service:

When you make a contribution to a campaign that is featured on the Our Tribute Fund Contributor form, OTF collects a variety of personal information in order to properly process your donation and be able to issue an official receipt for it, consistent with requirements of the IRS in the US. This also helps protect you in the case of a lost or missing receipt because we can reissue you a receipt for your donation. This personal information may include name, address, phone, email address, your credit card information, "acknowledgement" or "in memory of" information, and contribution amount. OTF will share this information with the funeral home to which you have designated your contribution.

It is unlikely that OTF will need to contact you, but we reserve the right in the event that we need to verify your personal information. If you contact us by email or phone, we may ask you to verify your personal information so that we may respond to your inquiry.

We collect credit card information from contributors so that we can process contributions. This information is maintained on a PCI-compliant and secure server and is not accessible by OTF. We also use a credit card processing company to process donations. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Protecting personal information:

OTF takes every precaution to protect contributor information. When contributors submit sensitive information via our web site, their information is protected both online and off-line. When a contributor is asked to enter sensitive information (such as contact information, address and credit card number) on a form, that information is encrypted and is protected using secure sockets layer (SSL) digital certificates.  While on a secure page the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Chrome, Safari, or Firefox, becomes locked.

Complying with the judicial or legal system:

Though OTF makes every effort to preserve contributor privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law, the IRS or if requested by a credit card issuer in case of a dispute.

Changes to our Privacy Policy:

OTF reserves the right to change its Privacy Policy and, in the event, will post those changes so that contributors are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
